“The more the merrier” is the most important concept for the Malay wedding and your presence is more valuable than presents! I was invited to attend my dear friend daughters wedding ceremony the other day. Malay wedding usually spreads over two parts, beginning with legal and religious ceremony called Akad Nikah followed by a family celebration. Wedding gifts exchange between the bride and the groom is essential. It usually consists of a pair of shoes, watch, bag, cloths, flowers, cakes and fruits, etc…The total number of gifts must be in odd number, usually 7 or more. Don’t forget about Dowry! This is one of tradition which is cash paid by the groom family to the bride family. It is said that dowry rates have gone up over the years as the living standard gone higher, the groom side got to prepare RM10,000 average…Wow, I wonder how much it will cost to have a wedding ceremony in total❗️In appreciation of the attendance, guests are traditionally given a bunga telur (flower egg) which is a symbol of fertility, is a hard-boiled egg cooked with herbs. マレー伝統の結婚式は先ず結婚の儀式を行い、それが終わると親戚・近隣者・友人を交えての披露宴があります。通常ビュッフェ形式の披露宴で平均５００名からのお客様をもてなす用意をします。っと言っても皆さん交代でいらっしゃるので人数分の席を用意するわけではありません。お祝い金もとてもカジュアルで、食べた分を支払うていど。いくら包んだ事より出席してくれたという事に大きな意味があるのです。以前は数日に渡って行われた結婚式も現在では、儀式＋披露宴をセットを1日でこなすのが主流。????結納金がRM10.000とは、驚きましたが、この辺りが平均的な金額だそう。調べると2014年のマレーシア平均収入はRM4585だとか。この数字も都会と地方では差があるものの想像したより上でした。お二人で力を合わせて明るく幸せな家庭を築いてくださいね〜????
