【Briexit: British exit from European Union—イギリスのEU離脱】

The British people have voted to leave the European Union. The effect has since had an overwhelming effect on global markets. The pound has dropped to a more than 30 year low against the dollar yesterday! While the crashing pound made people rushing to money changers to exploit a favourable rate in Singapore ( 24 June) until it run out of cash, 3pm. What comes next? And how does it affect our live in Asia? There are a lot of uncertainty thought I hope they made a right choice for the UK’s long term success.

イギリスで実施されたヨーロッパ連合からの離脱の賛否を問う国民投票の結果は接戦の末、英国離脱が昨日決定した。今回の国民投票の開票率は71.8%と、1992年以来の最多投票率になったようで、この事からも国民の関心の高さを伺い知ることがでる。また昨日の金融市場は、離脱勝利の見通しを受けて英通貨ポンドが1980年代以来の水準に下落と敏感に反応。一方シンガポールでは安くなったポンドをまとめ買いしようと、ローカルたちが両替商に殺到し、昨日の午後３時にはポンドがほぼ完売状態だったとか。。EU離脱を受け世界全体の政治、経済、金融市場への影響は避けられないものの、今回の決定が英国にとってさらなる発展への分岐点であることを願います。
